Mr. Mawe was appointed as State Solicitor for Limerick City on the 1st May 2017. He previously practised as a Prosecution Solicitor within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions for nine years and prior to that he practised as a Solicitor with Pierse and Fitzgibbon Solicitors in Listowel, County Kerry.
His office takes carriage of prosecutions on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions for all serious offences allegedly committed within Limerick City and is also instructed by a number of State agencies to carry out regulatory prosecutions on their behalf in the District Court and District Court Appeals. He has considerable experience in various areas of criminal law and has been involved in a number of high-profile prosecutions and cases of significant legal importance.
He lectures for the Law Society of Ireland, An Garda Siochana, the Heath Service Executive, the University of Limerick and various legal training bodies.
