Kate Field is an Associate in Dispute Resolution and is part of the Employment & Employee Benefits Group.
Kate has worked extensively in employment law since she qualified as a solicitor in 2013.
Kate advises commercial clients in relation to non-contentious and contentious matters and specialises in employment related litigation including employment injunctions and personal injuries claims resulting from workplace bullying and harassment.
Kate also advises on claims before the Workplace Relations Commission and Labour Court. She advises on all aspects of disciplinary and grievance procedures including reviewing and drafting disciplinary and grievance policies and procedures, providing training to employers on implementing these procedures and advising clients in relation to internal disciplinary and grievance investigations.
In relation to non-contentious matters Kate provides advice on all areas of employment law including equality matters, retirement, redundancy, bullying and harassment, data protection and working time issues. Kate reviews contracts of employment, handbooks and policy documents for clients on a regular basis.
Kate has an interest in data protection and assists employers in implementing GDPR compliant data protection policies and privacy notices and carries out reviews of data access requests made to clients by employees.
Kate completed a Certificate in District Court Advocacy from the Law Society in 2011 and completed the Diploma with the Law Society in Employment Law in 2016. Kate joined EFC in 2017 from a small commercial law firm.
