Edel is an Associate in the Employment & Employee Benefits Group at EFC and advises employers on all aspects of the employment relationship and with respect to equality law, in both contentious and non-contentious matters.
Edel specialises in employment law, successfully handling a multitude of complex and commercially sensitive matters for both international and domestic employers, particularly in the retail, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, financial services and ICT sectors.
Edel has significant experience advising employers on individual redundancies and also with respect to an employer’s obligations in a collective redundancy process.
Edel regularly advises employers on compliance with Irish employment legislation. She also has significant experience in advising on employment issues arising from internal investigations and processes, redundancies, unfair dismissal claims and corporate restructurings.
Edel has successfully represented employers before the civil courts and the Workplace Relations Commission and also negotiated a number of high profile exits of senior employees.
Having studied civil law in the National University of Ireland Galway, Edel went on to do a Commercial Law LLM in the University of Edinburgh where she would have studied European Labour Law. She has since completed numerous diplomas including UCD’s Diploma in Employment Law. Edel was admitted into the role of Solicitors in 2015 and she joined Eugene F. Collins in 2019.
