Giving evidence can be a daunting and terrifying experience for witnesses. A poor performance in the witness box can undermine a witness’ confidence, affect the credibility of their evidence and be detrimental to the case. These risks can be minimised if witnesses undertake a process of witness familiarisation.
The legal training is intensive and practical. We will examine the theory, practice and procedure of giving evidence, with detailed analysis of how best to prepare for the process and how to identify and deal with techniques used by lawyers in cross-examination.
The witness will partake in a mock cross-examination where the trainer will give constructive feedback on the witness’ performance in the witness box.
